Mesh Over Elastomer
Series No. 1500
MAJR’s Mesh Over Elastomer EMI Gaskets offer the shielding effectiveness that can be expected from metal knitted mesh gasket while simultaneously allowing for compression in a way that isn’t found with a typical all-mesh shielding gasket. A variety of material combinations are available to choose from depending on what sort of compression and shielding characteristics your specific application requires.
MAJR provides the choice between our standard rectangular, round, round with fin, or hollow configuration to ensure that enclosures or other equipment will be RF sealed appropriately.
Overview
Wire Mesh Over Elastomer Core EMI Gaskets (1500 series) is a great choice in lower cost effective EMI/RFI shielding and environmental protection. With two covers of mesh over an elastomer, the elastomer under pressure protrudes through the mesh to give sealing protection.
To address galvanic concerns MAJR’s shielded wire mesh gaskets are provided in a variety of material compositions allowing our customers to select the most appropriate material in their application – ensuring high attenuation over time in the systems they’re installed.
Product Features:
- Excellent Attenuation & Compression: The MAJR Mesh Over Elastomer shielding strip gives a high degree of attenuation in the H-Field and E-Field, as well as on the plane wave. The attenuation varies from over 95-100 dB in the E-Field to 35-85 dB in the H-Field while still providing excellent compression because of it’s elasotmer core.
- Versatility of Mounting Methods: Designers have the options of using a groove design for holding the mesh over rubber strip or using the mesh fin as a convenient way of strip mounting.
- Wide Range of Materials: The designer can choose from a wide range of materials to satisfy EMI shieldmesh requirements while providing for corrosion protection and sealing criteria. See Table 2 for materials.
